Scavenger Hunt

The following report is based on the scavenger hunt game that me and my peers took part in around Kentish town. In my report I am going to be writing about the route that my group chose and the resources that we decided to research including Kentish town Library, Kentish town baths and a green area.
I began this project by researching different routes to take through NW5 (Kentish town). I started by looking at really obvious routes (such as going through the highroad), but I decided that this was not a very interesting route and would be too obvious to the people taking part in the scavenger hunt. So I decided to look around the back streets and started to find much more interesting surroundings. After I had finally decided on a route, I documented it by taking down the different road names and taking various photographs.
I then went back and reported my findings to my group and together we decided which photographs to use and then we actually went out and walked the planned route to test it out. I found this really enjoyable because it was a good team effort and I enjoyed showing them certain things that I had come across along my route e.g different types of interesting architecture.
When my group had finished walking the route we went back to uni and started to research landmarks and points of interests in and around the route.
Half of my group then took the research and went back to the Kentish town area to try and find these landmarks/ points of interest. Meanwhile the other half of my group were thinking and making clues for our scavenger hunt, I started to research different types of architecture in the area, I found it really interesting how the old and modern architecture was placed side by side with each other and nothing really looked out of place.
The group then came back together to discuss what each other had been doing- this included making final decisions about the clues and typing up research etc. we started talking about how they would actually find the clues and where the scavenger hunt would start and finish. We all concluded that each clue should represent what each building/space held e.g an art gallery held paintings so the clue would be a painting.
After reflecting on the scavenger hunt I am proud of how it has ended up and I am glad about how well our group worked together as a team. Everyone took part and added there own something to the scavenger hunt, which really benefited our game as everything was not just left to one individual.
If I had to do the scavenger hunt again I would probably like to make the route a bit longer, so that we could fit more landmarks/ points of interest from around the Kentish town area.
